Bridging the Gap is an interactive training that invites clinicians to take an honest look at how they show up when working with adolescents. Participants will explore their own strengths, communication styles, comfort levels, assumptions, and potential areas for growth—and consider how these factors can influence an adolescent’s willingness to engage in the therapeutic relationship. Rather than simply offering another list of techniques, this training creates space for clinicians to self-assess, reflect, and become more intentional about the way they connect with young people. Participants will explore common barriers to adolescent engagement, consider what adolescents may need from the adults trying to help them, and identify practical ways to strengthen rapport while remaining authentic to their own clinical style.
